Stitch Fix #1 aka The Day That Mom Finally Looked Pretty

Yes, that is actually what my daughter said!  She means well, but boy, I sure did feel pretty today in my new clothes!!  I had heard about Stitch Fix from some blogs I read, and since I'm in need of some fashion help, I decided to give it a try!!

First, I went to Stitch Fix and filled out my style profile-it asks all sorts of questions to get to know you and your size and style.  I did TONS of research before I did the profile, and many bloggers said to make sure and link your pinterest fashion page to your profile.  That way, your stylist can get a real good idea of what you like!  If you haven't started a fashion Pinterest page yet, get one started before you fill out your profile, just so you have a better chance of getting things you want in your box!!  If you type "Stitch Fix" in the Pinterest search box, you can get an idea of what other people have received and you can pin them on your own page!!

Then, you schedule your first fix.  The great thing about Stitch Fix, is that you are not committing to a monthly subscription!  You can schedule a fix whenever you want!  You pay $20 fee for the stylist, which is taken off your purchase, should you decide to buy anything in your box.  And if you decide to buy all 5 items in your box, you get an additional 25% off!!

Without any more is what I got in my first fix!!

In your box, you get cards with a few outfit ideas!!

Here's what I got in my box:

~~ 41Hawthorn Tiffany Lightweight Tribal Print Infinity Scarf  $32
~~Olive and Oak Cloverdale Striped Short Sleeve Blouse-Turquoise  $48
~~Papermoon Hallowell Ombre Knit Sweater  $48
~~Kensie Jeans Sophia Skinny Jeans  $88
~~TCEC Roxanna Chevron Open Knit Cardigan  $58

Now, those of you that know me, know that I am NOT a fashionable person, and I tend to go for the bargains!!  I finally started looking for more quality items and more flattering styles, when my sister came to visit and helped me out.  For the first time, IN MY LIFE, I just tried on the clothes she picked out, without looking at the price first!!  Now, it helped that it was at Kohls, and I had a coupon, so I still got some good deals.  BUT, I did buy nicer things than I normally do!!
Anyway, I was a bit nervous...okay...A LOT nervous about spending so much on these clothes in my first Stitch Fix, but after trying them on, I was SOLD!!!

The skinny jeans, which I normally would never pay more than $45 or so...are SO comfortable, and fit so well, that I know I will wear them enough to make their $88 price worth it!!
This chevron cardigan is really soft and flatters my figure, rather than completely swallowing me, like a lot of my cardigans do.  And HELLO!  it's chevron and neutral colors, so I'm definitely keeping it!!
The Hallowell Ombre Knit sweater is so cute on!  Especially with the tank top I already had, underneath!!  So, it's a keeper!!
The Cloverdale Striped Blouse fits loose enough to disguise, but snug enough to flatter, so I' keeping it too!!
The tribal scarf is NOT my taste at all, and the price is crazy high, but since I want to keep the other 4 items, it's cheaper for me to go ahead and keep the scarf, since I get the 25% discount to buy all 5 items!!  So, with the savings, I got all 5 things for $190.50

I am SO thrilled with my new addiction!!  I hope you decide to give it a try too!!  Just so you know, I haven't been paid for this ringing endorsement by Stitch Fix, but I DO get a $25 credit, anytime a friend is referred by me!!  If you'd like to give it a is the referral link..   I recommend you give it a try!  At the most, it MIGHT cost you $20, only if you don't buy anything in your fix.  If you don't like anything in your fix, you can send it back in the free, postage paid envelope that comes in your box!!

Vday Decor

I love decorating for Valentines Day!  My mantle is always so bare after I take down my Christmas decor, so when Vday comes near, I find everything red and get decorating!  I want to find something to layer with the things on the mantle, but I haven't figured out what to do.  Maybe some silver trays in the background, leaning against the wall?   These rose wreaths are easy to make, although they take ALOT of roses!

Christmas Wreath Ideas

I love making different styles of wreaths for various parts of the house. I like the old fashioned/woodsy look over my mantle...

My front door is glitter and gold...

The kids have wreaths that show their favorite colors.
