Vday Decor

I love decorating for Valentines Day!  My mantle is always so bare after I take down my Christmas decor, so when Vday comes near, I find everything red and get decorating!  I want to find something to layer with the things on the mantle, but I haven't figured out what to do.  Maybe some silver trays in the background, leaning against the wall?   These rose wreaths are easy to make, although they take ALOT of roses!

Christmas Wreath Ideas

I love making different styles of wreaths for various parts of the house. I like the old fashioned/woodsy look over my mantle...

My front door is glitter and gold...

The kids have wreaths that show their favorite colors.

Strawberry Sauce for Cheesecake

3 cups fresh strawberries
1 Tbls cornstarch

Place ingredients in food processor and process until pureed and smooth. Pour in saucepan, and boil and stir for 2 minutes. Drop by teaspoonful onto cheesecake and swirl before baking. Save remaining sauce and refrigerate. When ready to serve cheesecake, pour a drizzle of sauce over the slices of cheesecake with a dollop of Cool Whip and enjoy!

Chocolate Cheesecake with Strawberry Swirl

This recipe is a combination of a few recipes.

1 Oreo cookie crust
2 pkgs cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup milk chocolate chips, chopped

In large mixer bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, unsweetened chocolate and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and pour into prepared crust in pie or springform pan. Drop strawberry sauce by teaspoons and swirl in cheesecake. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. I recommend baking it in a water bath and not overmixing, so that you won't have cracking in the cheesecake. I put a jelly roll pan in the oven, placed the pie pan in it and poured water in the jelly roll pan. After the cheesecake bakes, turn off oven and leave cheesecake in oven for another hour to allow it to set more, then refrigerate before serving. Serve with strawberry sauce and a dollop of Cool Whip.
